Taller Arte Del Nuevo Amanecer (TANA) has an exhibition space of at least 1,200 square feet. We offer between four and six exhibitions per year in addition to hosting a variety of community events. The gallery also promotes the use of the facility for theater, dance performances, lectures, poetry readings and community meetings.
Reoccurring exhibitions include the following:
- Youth and Adult Student Exhibitions
Junior high students, high school students, and adults enrolled in the printing workshops have the opportunity to exhibit the prints produced in each class.
- Emerging Chicano/Latino Artist Exhibitions
At least two exhibitions are offered annually with the goal of promoting young and emerging artists.
- Annual Atelier Print Exhibition and Sale
TANA’s atelier hosts and works with local, national, and international artists in producing limited edition silkscreen prints. This annual exhibition focuses solely on the accomplishments of the atelier and serves as an opportunity to fundraise for the operating costs of the Taller and Atelier program.
- Guest Curator Exhibitions
Guest curators are invited to develop thematically driven exhibitions that explore the Chicano/Latino experience.
- Theater and Dance Performances
Diverse theater and dance troupes are encouraged to use the gallery to share performances with the community in an accessible and integrative environment.
- Poetry and Fiction Readings
The TANA Reading Series hosts accomplished Chicano/Latino poets and authors from around the country.
- Film Festivals
A variety of possibilities exist for organizing and offering film festivals that contribute to the dialogue on Chicano/Latino Art.
- Lectures, Conferences and Community Meetings
Using UC Davis as a base, TANA seeks to organize and host scholarly lectures and a variety of conferences, seminars, and workshops. The gallery provides a physical space for community dialogue about local and national social issues.
